Two ways to build the expression — pick whichever fits how you think
The visual panel gives you five individual fields: Minute, Hour, Day of Month, Month, Day of Week. Each field accepts standard cron syntax — a bare number, a comma-separated list, a range like 1-5, or a step like */15. If you already know the expression and just need to validate it, switch to the Expression input and type it directly. Either way, the tool calls cronstrue to translate whatever you entered into a plain-English sentence so you can read back the schedule and catch misreads before they go live.
What the preset grid and Next Run Times panel are actually for
The 16 preset buttons cover the intervals most people reach for — @hourly, @daily, every 5 minutes, weekdays at 9 AM, first day of the month. Clicking any preset loads it into the fields immediately. The Command field takes the path to your script, producing a complete crontab line you can paste directly into crontab -e. Next Run Times lists the next five scheduled executions based on your current expression, which is the fastest way to confirm the timing is what you intended before deploying anything.
