Password-protected PDFs cannot be merged
If any of your files are encrypted, please unlock them first using our Unlock PDF tool, then upload the unlocked versions here to merge.
The merge happens in your browser — the PDFs never leave your device. That matters if the documents contain anything confidential: contracts, medical records, financial statements. There’s no upload progress bar because there’s no upload. Processing time scales with total file size and your device’s CPU; a set of ten 5 MB files will take noticeably longer on a phone than a desktop.
File order and page sequencing
Files appear in the queue in the order they were added. Drag any row up or down to reorder. The first file becomes the first section. If you add another file later, it lands at the bottom of the queue — drag it to where it belongs before clicking Merge. There’s no limit enforced beyond the 100 MB per-file cap.
Output options
- Watermark Text
- A label printed diagonally across every page of the merged output — useful for draft or internal-review copies you don’t want circulated as final.
- Password
- Sets an open password on the merged file. Any PDF viewer will ask for it on first launch. If you set one, write it down somewhere — there’s no recovery path if you lose it.
- Preserve bookmarks
- Bookmark outlines from the source files carry over into the merged document. Handy if you’re assembling a multi-chapter document and want the outline panel to show chapter names.
