Privacy Policy

Straight talk about what data BasicApps collects, what we do with it, and the choices you have.

This Privacy Policy applies to BasicApps (basicapps.net), a product of Codingtron. Last updated: September 2026. Questions? Reach us at privacy@basicapps.net.

How We Handle Your Files

BasicApps offers 150+ file conversion and editing tools. Depending on the tool, your file is either processed entirely inside your browser — it never leaves your device — or sent over an encrypted connection to our servers, converted, and returned to you as a download. Either way:

  • We do not open, read, or inspect your files. No human looks at them. No automated system scans them for any purpose beyond completing the task you requested.
  • We do not store your uploads. Any file that passes through our servers is deleted as soon as the output is ready — no copies, no backups.
  • We do not sell, share, or license your files or their contents to any third party, ever.

If you close the browser tab before downloading, that file is gone. We have no way to recover it because we never kept it.

Data Collected Automatically

Like every website, our servers log standard request data when you visit a page:

  • IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URL
  • Pages you visited, time spent, and which tools you used — aggregated only, not tied to you personally
  • Error and performance logs we use to fix bugs
  • Cookie identifiers placed by analytics and advertising partners (detailed below)

We do not collect your name, email address, or any account details unless you contact us directly — at which point we only use your details to reply to you.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files a website saves to your browser. BasicApps uses them for two purposes: understanding how people use the site (analytics), and serving ads (which is how we keep all 150+ tools free). You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time — some ad-related behavior may change if you do.

Google AdSense & the DoubleClick DART Cookie

We use Google AdSense to show advertisements on BasicApps. Ad revenue is what makes it possible to offer all our tools at no cost. As part of that, Google uses the DoubleClick DART cookie to serve ads based on your prior visits to BasicApps and other sites on the web.

The DART cookie is set by doubleclick.net — a Google-owned domain — not by BasicApps. We have no access to or control over what Google collects through it.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time using either of these links:

Third-Party Vendors & Ad Networks

BasicApps works with the following third-party services. Each runs under its own privacy policy — we don't govern those policies, but we link them here so you can read them:

We do not pass personally identifiable information to any of these vendors beyond what their own scripts collect automatically when a page loads in your browser.

How We Use the Data We Collect

The automatically-collected data described above is used for:

  • Keeping the site running and diagnosing technical errors when they come up
  • Understanding which tools people use most so we know what to improve next
  • Detecting and blocking abusive traffic or bot activity
  • Displaying relevant advertisements via Google AdSense

We do not build personal profiles, run email marketing campaigns, or sell data to data brokers. There is no BasicApps account system — no profile is tied to you.

Your Privacy Choices

Because we don't create accounts or build personal profiles, most standard data rights (access, correction, portability) don't apply here in the traditional sense — there is no file on you to hand over. That said:

  • Opt out of personalized ads: Use the Google or NAI links in the AdSense section above.
  • Block analytics tracking: Use a browser extension like uBlock Origin, or disable third-party cookies in your browser settings.
  • Have a concern? Email privacy@basicapps.net and we will respond within 30 days.

California residents have rights under CCPA. EU and UK residents have rights under GDPR. We respect both to the extent they apply to the data we actually hold.

Children's Privacy

BasicApps is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone in that age group. If you are a parent and believe your child has submitted personal data through this site, email us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We update this policy when our practices change or when the law requires us to. Any material change gets a new “Last updated” date at the bottom of this page. Since we don't collect your email address, we can't send policy-update notices — checking this page from time to time is the best way to stay current.
