QR Code Tips

  • Real-time: QR codes update automatically as you type
  • SVG Export: Use SVG for scalable, professional graphics
  • WiFi Format: Generates proper WIFI:T:WPA;S:network;P:pass;; strings
  • vCard Format: Creates valid BEGIN:VCARD contact cards
  • Testing: Always test QR codes with different scanner apps

Pick the QR type, fill in the fields, and the code appears as you type

The type selector at the top of the panel changes the form fields beneath it. URL just needs a link. WiFi needs the network name, password, and encryption type — WPA, WEP, or none. vCard needs name, phone, email, and optionally organisation and title. SMS, email, calendar event, and GPS location each have their own fields. The qrcode library renders to a canvas as you type, so there's no Generate button to hit — the preview on the right updates live. Output size runs from 128 × 128 up to 1024 × 1024 pixels; larger sizes are better if the code will be printed rather than displayed on screen.

Error correction, colours, and how to get a logo to work

The error correction dropdown has four levels: L recovers 7% of damage, M recovers 15%, Q recovers 25%, and H recovers 30%. Use H if you plan to put a logo or icon in the centre — the extra redundancy lets scanners recover the data even with part of the pattern obscured. Foreground and background colour pickers let you match a brand palette, though high contrast between the two is essential for reliable scanning. Download PNG for digital use; Download SVG for print — the vector version scales to any size without pixelation and has no embedded raster data.
