(or drag them here)
Most people use this for one of two reasons: they want numbers in the right physical spot, or they need to start counting from page 3 because the cover and table of contents shouldn’t be stamped. Both are straightforward. Where things get fiddly is margin distance — the “Recommended” preset keeps numbers inside print-safe zones on A4 and Letter stock. If your PDF already has tight margins, switch to “Narrow” or the number may get clipped at the edge. “None” places the stamp flush against the trim line, which is fine on screen but risky if the file goes to a printer.
Number formats
| Format | Sample output | Common use |
|---|---|---|
| Plain numeral | 1, 2, 3… | Standard reports, contracts |
| Page X of Y | Page 3 of 12 | Handouts, multi-part proposals |
| Bracketed | - 1 -, - 2 - | Legal exhibits, court filings |
| Roman (lower) | i, ii, iii | Front matter — preface, TOC |
| Custom template | CASE001-3 | Bates stamping for discovery |
Offset numbering
From Page and To Page exclude the cover and any front matter entirely — those pages get no stamp. Starting Digit controls what number appears on the first stamped page. Set From Page to 3 and Starting Digit to 1, and the third page of the file reads “1”. The file’s internal page count doesn’t change; this is a visual stamp only. Fourteen font families are available including Helvetica, Georgia, and Times New Roman; bold, italic, and underline are independent toggles.
