Fill in the title, description, and image fields here and the generator produces the full block of HTML you paste into your page's <head>. It covers the basics — meta name="description", Open Graph tags for Facebook and most other platforms, and Twitter Card tags. Getting this right means when someone shares your page, the preview card shows the image and description you intended instead of whatever the platform scrapes by chance. The title tag is the one that actually affects search rankings; the meta description doesn't influence ranking but it influences click-through rate, and a well-written description can move that number noticeably.
A few specifics worth knowing: the og:image should be at least 1200×630px for good quality on Facebook and LinkedIn; Twitter's minimum is 800×418px for summary_large_image. If you use the same image URL for both, make it 1200×630 and it'll be acceptable everywhere. The og:url should be the canonical URL of the page, not the URL someone might have used to get there — so no tracking parameters, no session tokens. One tag people often skip is meta name="robots". If you don't include it, the default is index and follow, which is usually what you want. But for login pages, thank-you pages, or any page you don't want in search results, add content="noindex" explicitly rather than relying on the default.
