BIP39 Generator

Generate BIP39 mnemonic seed phrases for cryptocurrency wallets

SECURITY WARNING

Never share your seed phrase with anyone. Store it securely offline. Anyone with access to your seed phrase can control your crypto assets.

Do not generate a seed phrase on a device you don't fully trust

That's the most important thing to say about this tool. A BIP39 seed phrase is the master key to every wallet derived from it. It controls every address, every chain, every coin. If you generate one on a laptop with browser extensions running, unknown software installed, or a keylogger present, all the cryptographic correctness in the world doesn't matter. The tool uses crypto.getRandomValues() and never sends anything to a server — the generation is genuinely secure. The threat is your device environment, not the tool itself. For anything more than testing and learning, generate on an air-gapped machine or use a hardware wallet that generates the phrase internally and never exposes it to any connected device.

The word count choice changes the entropy, not the security category

12 words is 128 bits. 24 words is 256 bits. Both are computationally impossible to brute-force with current or near-future hardware. The practical difference is margin — if there's ever an advance in quantum computing that weakens 128-bit security, 256-bit has more room to breathe. For most users 12 words is completely fine; the actual risk isn't someone guessing the phrase, it's someone finding where you wrote it down. 24 words is harder to memorize and transcribe without errors, which is its own kind of risk. If you're testing wallet compatibility, generating derivation paths, or learning how BIP39 works, 12-word phrases are the standard you'll encounter in most documentation.
